Significantly more people registered for Tartu Song Festival than was expected. Over 7,000 participants from 220 groups will participate.

Mixed choirs and children's choirs have the largest numbers of participants. Kindergartens' toddlers choirs who are participating in a song festival for the first time have showed much interest, too, 31 choirs having registered with over 600 singers. The total number of participants will increase even further, as the procession will include all Estonian and foreign wind bands taking part in their own festival „Cheering Horn“ the same week. In addition to Tartu County, some choirs will come from Harju County, Pärnu County, Jõgeva County and Ida-Viru County.
